Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 Day 17: 17th Batch of 4,388 Pilgrims Sets Off from Jammu Base Camp

Jammu, July 20: The spiritual fervour of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 continued to surge as the 17th batch of pilgrims set off from the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu on Saturday morning. A total of 4,388 yatris left in a well-coordinated movement, marking another significant day in the 52-day-long annual pilgrimage to the holy cave shrine nestled in the Himalayas.

The pilgrims were divided into two convoys. The Baltal-bound convoy carried 1,573 pilgrims in 64 vehicles, while 2,815 devotees travelling via the traditional Pahalgam route were accommodated in 115 vehicles. Both convoys moved under a multi-layered security cover provided by Jammu and Kashmir Police, CRPF, and other agencies.

Officials at the base camp confirmed that all arrangements, including medical support, traffic regulation, and weather monitoring, were in place to ensure the safe passage of pilgrims. The convoys were flagged off amid chants of Bam Bam Bhole, with yatris expressing joy and hope as they embarked on their spiritual journey.

Despite intermittent weather-related challenges this year, the yatra has maintained a steady flow, reflecting the deep devotion of pilgrims from across the country and abroad. Authorities continue to appeal for caution and cooperation to ensure a smooth and safe yatra in the days ahead.
