LEH, Apr 20: A soldier laid down his life in the line of duty at the Siachen Glacier — the world’s highest battlefield — the Army said on Sunday.
Naib Subedar Baldev Singh made the supreme sacrifice while serving in the harsh terrain of Siachen. Paying homage to the fallen soldier, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps offered heartfelt tributes.
“GOC, Fire and Fury Corps and all ranks salute Naib Subedar Baldev Singh, who made the supreme sacrifice in the line of duty in #SiachenGlacier on 20 Apr 2025, and offer deep condolences to the bereaved family in this hour of grief,” the Fire and Fury Corps posted on X.
The Army has not disclosed the specific circumstances surrounding his death.
