Srinagar Police Seize Large Drug Consignment in Operation Against Trafficking

Srinagar, Jan 21: In a significant operation against illegal drug trafficking, Srinagar Police successfully seized a large consignment of illicit drugs being transported through a courier service in Karan Nagar on Tuesday.

The operation was carried out at the premises of Shree Maruti Courier Service in Chota Bazar. Acting on reliable information, police conducted a search of the courier office after following all legal procedures, leading to the recovery of a substantial quantity of illegal drugs. The seized items include 220 bottles of Mavrix-T Codeine, 15 boxes of Spasmoproxyvon (7 strips per box), and 60 strips of Pregabalin.

A case has been registered under FIR No. 01/2025 at Police Station Karan Nagar under relevant sections of the law. Investigations are ongoing to trace both the forward and backward supply chains linked to the seized consignment.

A manhunt has been launched to apprehend those involved in this trafficking network.

Srinagar Police reiterated their commitment to combating the drug menace and urged citizens to report any suspicious activities. “Together, we can build a safer, drug-free community,” the statement concluded.
