Anantnag, Feb 16: Three nomadic labourers, including two brothers, have been missing from the Qazigund area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district for the past three days, leaving their families in deep distress.
The missing individuals have been identified as Riyaz Ahmad Bajad (25) and his younger brother Showkat Ahmad Bajad (18) from Chandanpanjan, Qazigund, along with Mukhtar Ahmad Awan from Chowgam, Devsar, Kulgam.
According to their family, the trio left home on February 13 to attend a wedding at a relative’s house in Ashmuji, Kulgam. They reportedly took a lift in a tipper near Damjan and got off near Mir Bazar to continue their journey. However, they never reached their destination, and their phones have remained switched off since, said Riyaz Ahmad Khan, a relative.
Originally from Chita Danda Panglar in Rajouri district, the three men had been working as labourers in the region for the past six years.
