KATRA, Apr 6: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board introduced a smart locker system during the Navratri period, which received positive feedback from pilgrims, CEO Anshul Garg said on Sunday.
Speaking to reporters, Garg said the board is committed to enhancing pilgrim experience and prioritised cleanliness, convenience, and hospitality throughout the nine-day festival.\
“The board always strives to offer better facilities to devotees. This time, we introduced a smart locker system, and the response has been very encouraging,” he said.
He added that over 50,000 pilgrims availed langar services during the Navratri period. Decorations along the yatra route, combined with a cleanliness drive, further elevated the overall experience for the pilgrims.
Thousands of devotees thronged the Vaishno Devi shrine on Navami, the concluding day of Chaitra Navratri, to offer prayers.
Meanwhile, in Srinagar, a large number of devotees visited the historic Shankaracharya Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, to mark the occasion of Ram Navami.
Aarti, a devotee from Kerala, expressed gratitude, saying, “I feel truly blessed to have visited the Shankaracharya Temple on this auspicious day.”
