BSF & Punjab Police Foil Smuggling Bid, Seize 10 Kg Heroin; 4 Smugglers Nabbed in Gurdaspur

Gurdaspur, Sept 21: In a swift and coordinated operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police foiled a major cross-border smuggling attempt on the Gurdaspur border, recovering a huge consignment of heroin and apprehending four narco-smugglers.

Officials said that acting on a credible input, BSF and Punjab Police launched a joint operation in the Thetharke area of Gurdaspur this morning. The operation led to the arrest of four smugglers and the seizure of five packets of heroin, weighing 10 kilograms, along with three mobile phones and two motorcycles.

The arrested smugglers have been identified as residents of Manepur and Ballagan villages in Gurdaspur district, and Pakha Tara Singh and Palla Colony in Amritsar.

Terming the recovery a major success, officials said the operation highlights the seamless coordination and commitment of BSF and Punjab Police in tackling narco-terrorism and safeguarding the nation’s borders.
