Srinagar: Amid heightened focus on the security dynamics of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan has convened a critical review meeting this afternoon in Srinagar. The meeting aims to assess the prevailing security situation in the two Union Territories and strategize future measures.

Top brass from the security and intelligence apparatus will be present, underscoring the meeting’s significance. Director General of J&K Police Nalin Prabhat, Additional Director General of Police Jammu Anand Jain, Inspector General of Police Kashmir VK Birdi, and Director General Ladakh SD Jamwal are slated to attend. Heads of all major intelligence agencies are also expected to participate.

Sources indicate that the discussion will include recent developments in cross-border infiltration, counter-terrorism operations, and measures to bolster security in the region. With the winter season approaching, ensuring secure connectivity across critical regions, including Ladakh’s high-altitude areas, will likely be a focal point.

This high-stakes meeting comes at a time when both Union Territories have seen increased vigilance and a series of ongoing counter-terror initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability. The outcomes of today’s deliberations are expected to shape future security policies in these sensitive areas.
