Reaffirming India’s ‘Neighborhood First’ policy and the SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) framework, Rajnath Singh assured India’s continued support in bolstering Maldives’ defence capabilities. This includes the provision of defence platforms and resources aligned with Malé’s national priorities. Minister Maumoon expressed gratitude for India’s historic role as the Maldives’ ‘First Responder’ and acknowledged its contributions to enhancing defence infrastructure and personnel training.
During the discussions, India handed over defence equipment and stores at the Maldives’ request, reinforcing trust and collaboration.
