KANGRI (RAJOURI), Jan 29: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Monday conducted a public outreach programme at Punna Khetar, Kangri, in Beripattan Tehsil, where he engaged with residents and took stock of their grievances.
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with locals appreciating the government’s initiative to directly address their concerns.
Key Public Demands
Residents highlighted several pressing issues, including:
- Relocation of the Beripattan tehsil office for better accessibility.
- Establishment of a veterinary sub-centre at Tanda.
- Upgradation of crucial roads, including Gurbak Singh to Shamshanghat, Gurudwara Singh to main road, and main road to Bachan Singh.
- Installation of electricity poles and resolution of frequent power cuts.
- Deployment of transformers at Pyari Gala, Tanda (Ward No. 5), and Punna Khetar, Kangri.
- Expediting work on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes.
- Opening of a J&K Bank branch in Kangri.
- Setting up of a medical sub-centre and repairing hand pumps across different locations.
Deputy CM’s Assurances & Directives
Listening attentively to the public’s demands, Choudhary directed district officials to prioritize their resolution and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring effective service delivery at the grassroots level.
“Our government is bringing administration to people’s doorsteps to ensure swift grievance redressal. We are fully committed to the rapid development of every corner of the region,” he said.
The Deputy CM also issued strict warnings against the misuse of subsidy schemes, instructing the Chief Agriculture Officer to cancel the licenses of fertilizer dealers overcharging farmers.
To improve administrative accessibility, he directed that the Tehsildar Beripattan’s office be made operational at the Panchayat Ghar in Kangri, ensuring local residents receive government services more efficiently.
For enhanced governance in border areas, he instructed ADDC Rajouri, Dr. Raj Kumar Thapa, to conduct regular public outreach programmes and ordered a reshuffle of non-performing officials to enhance efficiency in service delivery.

The event was attended by ADC Nowshera, Chief Engineer PWD (R&B) Pir Panjal, Anil Kumar Pandohi; SE PWD (R&B), Devi Dayal, and other district officers, who assured prompt action on the issues raised by the public.
