Srinagar, Sep 29: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi, on Monday chaired a high-level security review meeting at the Police Control Room, Kashmir, to assess the overall law-and-order and security scenario in the valley.
The meeting was attended by Range DIsG, District SSsP, and senior officers. Discussions focused on ongoing anti-terror operations, law-and-order management, NDPS Act enforcement, achieving zero terror recruitment, and property attachment proceedings against terror elements.
IGP Birdi emphasised monitoring social media to curb misinformation and anti-national content. On narcotics, he directed intensified operations, enhanced surveillance, dismantling of drug networks, and community outreach for rehabilitation.
A district-wise security plan was reviewed, including protection of key installations, inter-agency coordination, proactive intelligence gathering, and strict surveillance of anti-national elements. Birdi appreciated officers’ efforts and called for improved investigation quality while maintaining a people-centric approach.
