Assures phased easing of restrictions, calls peace the foundation of progress
Leh, October 5: The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Shri Kavinder Gupta, today reaffirmed that sustained peace is the cornerstone of Ladakh’s progress and prosperity. Chairing a high-level security review meeting in Leh, he underlined the Administration’s commitment to ensuring stability, growth, and the welfare of every citizen.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG Srinagar South Shri P.K. Singh, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, CO 79 Shri Sanjay Kumar, CO 25 Shri Rajat Jain, along with other senior officers.
Officials briefed the Lt Governor on the prevailing situation in the Union Territory, informing him that life across Ladakh remains peaceful and normal with public activities continuing smoothly.
The Lt Governor appreciated the people of Ladakh for their cooperation with the Administration and security forces, commending their discipline and responsibility during the recent relaxation period. “Your commitment to peace and harmony has been instrumental in restoring and sustaining normalcy,” he remarked.
Expressing satisfaction over the current situation, Shri Gupta directed officials to maintain close coordination among agencies, ensure constant vigilance, and encourage proactive community participation in safeguarding public safety and order.
He assured that the remaining precautionary restrictions will be reviewed shortly and lifted in a phased manner as the peaceful atmosphere continues. “The Administration is fully committed to restoring complete normalcy and easing public convenience at the earliest,” he said.
Reiterating his vision for Ladakh, the Lt Governor stressed that transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance will guide the Union Territory on the path of lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
