Udhampur Hotel Owner Booked for Failing to Report Foreign Guest Stay

JAMMU, Oct 9: Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case against the owner and staff of Hotel Samrat in Udhampur for allegedly failing to report the stay of a foreign national, in violation of the Foreigners Act.

During routine checks, police discovered that the hotel management did not submit Form C, the mandatory online report required for all foreign guests staying at hotels.

“A foreign national had recently stayed at the hotel, but neither the owner nor the staff reported the stay to the Senior Superintendent of Police, who also serves as the Foreigners Registration Officer, as required under law,” a police spokesperson said.

The case has been registered at the Udhampur Police Station, and further investigations are ongoing.

Authorities have advised all hoteliers and lodging operators across Jammu and Kashmir to strictly comply with legal provisions regarding foreign guests and ensure timely submission of Form C to avoid legal action.

The move highlights the administration’s focus on monitoring the stay of foreign nationals and ensuring strict adherence to security and immigration regulations in the Union Territory.
