Army Attachment Camp Concludes at Miran Sahib, Inspires Cadets with Glimpse into Military Life

Jammu, October 14: The Army Attachment Camp held under the aegis of 2 J&K Battalion, National Cadet Corps (NCC) concluded on Monday at Miran Sahib, Jammu, after nearly two weeks of rigorous training and immersive military exposure.

Commencing on October 3, the camp brought together 50 Senior Division (SD) cadets with the objective of instilling discipline, teamwork, leadership, and patriotism through firsthand experience of the Indian Army’s lifestyle and training regimen.

Throughout the camp, cadets underwent intensive sessions in Physical Training (PT), Drill, Field Craft, Battle Craft, Map Reading, and leadership development, reflecting the high standards of military preparedness. One of the major highlights was weapon and equipment training, where cadets got to handle and understand the functioning of modern infantry weapons such as the 5.56MM INSAS Rifle, 5.56MM INSAS LMG, 7.62MM Negev LMG, 7.62MM MMG, 51MM Mortar, and 84MM Rocket Launcher—all under the supervision of experienced Army instructors and with strict adherence to safety protocols.

The cadets also received hands-on experience in communication systems, learning to operate the Radio Set Star V and understanding the essentials of field communication, maintenance, and voice procedures — key components of modern battlefield coordination.

Adding further depth to the experience, the participants visited an Artillery Unit, where they were briefed about its organization, strategic role, and the operational significance of artillery firepower in combat situations. Demonstrations of artillery guns and equipment provided cadets with a practical understanding of precision, coordination, and tactical deployment.

The camp not only strengthened the cadets’ physical endurance and leadership qualities but also deepened their respect for the Armed Forces and their role in safeguarding the nation.

Speaking at the conclusion, many cadets expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Army and 2 J&K Battalion NCC, Jammu, for giving them a platform that combined adventure, discipline, and learning.

The event served as a vital stepping stone in shaping the character and aspirations of the young participants, embodying the NCC’s enduring motto — “Unity and Discipline.”
