Four Killed, Two Missing in Kishtwar Road Accident; Rescue Operations Underway

Srinagar, Jan 05: Four people lost their lives in a tragic road accident in the Sanyas area of Paddar in Kishtwar district on Friday. Two others are still missing, with rescue operations ongoing in the remote and challenging terrain.

The accident has sent shockwaves through the region, as authorities race against time to locate the missing individuals. Emergency teams have been deployed, with efforts continuing despite the rugged conditions of the area.

Union Minister of Science and Technology and Udhampur MP, Dr. Jitendra Singh, responded swiftly to the incident, staying in constant contact with the district administration.

“Got in touch with DC #Kishtwar, Sh Rajesh Kumar Shavan immediately after receiving the report of a road accident at Sanyas in Paddar area,” Dr. Singh stated on X (formerly Twitter). He confirmed that five people were in the ill-fated vehicle and assured that rescue teams were actively working on the ground.

The Union Minister also conveyed that he was regularly receiving updates about the progress of the rescue efforts.
